ActionAid hands 12 motorcycles to health project partners

ActionAid Malawi has donated 12 motorcycles worth K156 million to CRECCOM, the Catholic Health Commission (CHC), and the Malawi Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS (MANET+), who are the implementing partners under the Health and Community Engagement Project.

The purchase of the motorcycles was funded by the Global Fund through the Ministry of Health and it is aimed at solving mobility challenges and reporting setbacks experienced by the implementors of the project being implemented across 14 districts in the country.

Yandula Chipeta, Executive Director for ActionAid Malawi says the motorcycles aim to strengthen local health structures to respond effectively to future pandemics.

Chipeta has further urged the recipients to be responsible and use the enablers wisely.

Lawrence Khonyongwa, Executive Director for MANET+ who were also among the recipients of the motorcycles, has expressed gratitude over the grant and says the impact that these motorcycles will have on their work can never be understated.
