Agcom 2 disburses over K6BN grants to farmer groups

More than 60 farmer groups across the country have received approximately K6.5 billion in grants during the second phase of Agricultural Commercialisation (Agcom 2) for the procurement of capital assets.

Minister of Agriculture, Sam Kawale, officially presented dummy cheques of various amounts to some cooperatives at a ceremony held in Malembo, Traditional Authority Nankumba, in Mangochi.

The Minister stressed that the aim is to empower cooperatives to engage in agricultural commercialisation, adding that this approach is essential for the transformation of both households and the nation as a whole.

AGCOM 2 was officially launched by President Lazarus Chakwera on November 16,2023 in Ntchisi District.
