Court grants bail to Bullets’ bus vandalisers

Two of the three football fans accused of damaging the FCB Nyasa Big Bullets team bus have been granted bail by Blantyre Senior Resident Magistrate, Lawrence Mchilima. The two are Edward Chilabade and Paul Majawa.
The first accused George Wonderson popularity known as Wamkaka among Bullets fans, was released on bail last week.
Appearing before court to take plea, Majawa and Chilabade each denied the charge of malicious damage.
Lawyer representing the two, Kondwani Dennis Kumitengo of KK Attorneys, requested for bail to which state prosecutor Davie Kusamale did not object.
However, Kusamale requested the court that among the bail conditions, the accused should not be allowed anywhere near football matches, which the court rejected.
Among the bail conditions, the three have paid a bond of K100,000 each and will report to Blantyre Police Station once every two weeks.
The case has been adjourned until 23 September.
The three were arrested on 29 August in relation to the smashing of the Bullets bus on 10 August following the team’s 3-3 draw against Karonga United at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.
