Anglican Church continues to complement government’s social development effort, through its Moments that Matter Project, with a focus on Early Childhood Development.
This week, the church in Malawi brought together its leaders from across the country in Dedza District for training, with an aim of equiping them with skills on how they can help ensure that children targeted through the initiative are growing spiritually, emotionally and physically in their early ages.
Anglican Council of Malawi General Secretary, Reverend Father McDonald Njalammano Banda, emphasized that the training for the church’s leaders was essential as it will help strengthen their collaboration with parents in nurturing children.
One of the participants, Reverend Father Kamandani, who is the Coordinator for the Anglican Southern Malawi Development Commission, urged parents to support the initiative so that the children can grow in faith.
The programme has been running over the past 10 years, spanning from Zambia,Malawi and four other countries and has already impacted on 59000 children and caregivers.
