The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has emphasized the importance of innovative financial opportunities to support the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in Malawi.
Ahunna Eziakonwa, UNDP’s Regional Director for Africa and UN Assistant Administrator conveyed the message during her visit to Naturals Limited, a local factory in Lilongwe.
Meanwhile, Sosten Gwengwe, Minister of Trade and Industry, has stated that efforts are underway to stabilise the economy. Gwengwe further said the ministry is engaging key stakeholders to review lending rates that impact SMEs’ capitalisation.
