Board chairperson for TNM, Ted Sauti-Phiri, says despite a turbulent economic environment last year, the company has achieved a growth in revenue of K110.48 billion, representing a 15 percent rise.
Speaking during the company’s 29th Annual General Meeting in Blantyre, Sauti-Phiri said TNM stayed on course in executing its strategy despite challenges posed by currency devaluation and impacts of wars in Ukraine and the Middle East and dry spells in the country resulting from El Nino weather condition.
He then said the company will continue partnering with the government and donor community in disbursements of social cash transfer as this has helped to increase the number of transactions and agents base on its Mpamba platform by 27% and 89% respectively.
The company’s Chief Executive Officer, Michel Herbert, highlighted that TNM will hire more women to ensure gender as currently, the ratio of employees is 63 percent men against 37 percent women.
