The Malawi Union Conference of Seventh Day Adventist Church is training youths in various social skills to help them become rational thinkers and make independent decisions that bring glory to God.
The week-long Youth Alive Training has been taking place in Area 25, Lilongwe. According to the organisers, the training follows a youth-centric approach.
Speaking to #MBCDigital, Health Director at the General Conference of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in the United States of America, Katia Garcia Reinet, said, “The Youth Alive training and conference seeks to help young people live healthily and have a better life.”
In his remarks, Health Director at the Malawi Union of Seventh Day Adventist Church, Dr. Chitsa Banda, said the training targets young people aged between 15 and 30.
“The Seventh Day Adventist Church is predominantly made up of young people, so it is imperative to equip them with the right social skills that will help them to live a better life,” said Dr. Banda.
One of the participants, Amanda Masuku, expressed her appreciation for the training, stating, “The training has come at the right time, and I will make good use of the social skills acquired.”
The Seventh Day Adventist Church focuses on training young people to grow mentally, physically, and spiritually, so they become responsible citizens and support the advancement of the gospel.
