‘Research, Innovation key to development’

Research and innovation have been described as sure ways of finding lasting solutions to socio-economic challenges in the country.

National Planning Commission’s Research Manager, Andrew Jamali, said this during the National Research and Dissemination Conference held at Mzuzu University (MZUNI), which brought together various stakeholders to share essential knowledge for addressing social challenges.

Chomora Mikeka, Director of Science, Technology, and Innovation at the Ministry of Education, emphasised the importance of promoting digitalisation and industrialisation through research to achieve financial stability and innovations in Malawi

MZUNI’s Vice Chancellor, Professor Wales Singini, said the university considers research a top priority for generating new knowledge and innovations that drive socio-economic development.
