President Chakwera in Mzuzu, calls for unity of purpose

President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has called for unity among all Malawians.

The Malawi leader was speaking upon arrival in Mzuzu and he is expected to carry out a number of official engagements in the Northern Region.

Addressing a crowd that gathered at Katoto roundabout, President Chakwera stressed that the country can achieve more if people remain united.

“Let’s all be united and have faith in God to overcome all the challenges the country is going through,” said Chakwera.

MCP vice president Harry Mkandawire, Speaker of National Assembly Catherine Gotani Hara, the clergy, Chiefs, government and party officials were on hand to welcome the President on arrival at Mzuzu Airport.

Speaking earlier, Mkandawire and Regional Chairman for Malawi Congress Party in the North South, Joseph Chavula, said people in the region are behind President Chakwera.
