The National Youth Council of Malawi (NYCOM) has encouraged youths in the country to closely follow issues of national importance such as the State of the Nation Address (SONA) that was delivered in Parliament by President Lazarus Chakwera and the National Budget.
NYCOM Executive Director, Rex Chapota, said this would help ensure that the youth constituent is an active participant in development matters.
He made the remarks in Lilongwe during a youth engagement session on the SONA and the National Budget.
According to Chapota, the youth make up 51% of the country’s population and as such, they are essential to the country’s effort towards meeting Malawi 2063 agenda.
