The Board Chairperson of the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST), Matthews Mtumbuka, says the institution requires K2 billion to complete the construction of its purpose-built laboratory on its campus in Thyolo.
Mtumbuka says the laboratory, which is nearing completion, is essential for enhancing scientific research and innovation. It will provide students with a cutting – edge learning environment and will be equipped with modern facilities and equipment.
He disclosed this on Saturday when the Public Accounts Committee of Parliament visited the university to appreciate some of the development projects under construction.
Vice Chairperson for the Committee, Ned Poya, pledged to lobby for further funding to ensure the laboratory is completed to the highest standards.
Poya commended the engineers responsible for completing the laboratory for their dedication and expertise in bringing the project to life.
“The completion of this laboratory will not only benefit the students but also contribute to the advancement of science and technology in our country,” he said.
