Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has signed a two-year technical partnership with Admiral Sports, making Admiral the official kit supplier for all Malawi National Football Teams.
The partnership, worth K400 million, will see Admiral introduce an exclusive new range of football merchandise for Malawian fans.
FAM President Fleetwood Haiya said proceeds from the deal would go towards national teams.
He said this on Saturday in Blantyre during the kit unveiling ceremony.
However, Haiya stressed that Admiral’s arrival does not kill the Moto brand, which FAM introduced back in 2021 following the expiry of a three-year deal with the South African kit manufacturer Sports Apparel Design Institute (ISAD) four years earlier.
“We are going to be changing the design of the kits every year, which is going to give motivation to our players while at the same time attracting more buyers of merchandise ,“ Haiya said.
Admiral General Manager Roger Livesey said the agreement is a big boost in growing the company’s brand.
“We are very proud to be involved with FAM and what they are doing with regards to the development of football within Malawi, which is not only ending with the seniors but going all the way to the grassroots,” Livesey Said.
Flames sponsors, FDH Bank, said they are excited to witness the signing of the deal.
FDH Managing Director, Noel Nkulichi, said this has potential to help the bank’s growth.
“The Flames are going to be marketed outside the country, and that on its own means that the bank is also recognised outside Malawi. In any case, I believe the bank has matured enough, now it requires that it also goes international,” Nkulichi said.
The Flames will wear the Admiral kit on Thursday, 20th March, when they host Namibia in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier at Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe.
