The construction project of 103 schools under the Equity with Quality and Learning at Secondary (EQUALS) is now at a 75 percent completion rate.
Tione Mughogho, who is an architect at the project, says they expect to hand over several structures to the schools by April this year despite facing some setbacks like insufficient foreign currency and scarcity of fuel, which delayed the project in remote areas.
“Most works on libraries and laboratories are done and they are remaining with procurement of furniture” said Mughogho.
The EQUALS Project aims at improving quality of science and mathematics instruction in Community Day Secondary Schools and increased access to secondary education in hard-to-reach areas.
