Group Chief Operations Officer for NICO Group, Kwanele Ngwenya, has challenged Internal Auditors to embrace technology to safeguard their institutions’ data amid cyber threats.
Ngwenya was speaking in Mangochi during Institute of Internal Auditors Annual Lakeshore conference.
He warned them against complacency in handling Institutions data, saying this has serious consequences on governance structures and sustainable use of funds.
Chairperson of African Federation of Institutes of Internal Auditors,Thokozile Kuwali, expressed worry that some institutions are yet to embrace Internal Auditors in management hence rendering governance structures ineffective.
The Annual conference, which is expected to usher new office bearers for a two year term, is being held under the theme ‘Governance and internal Audits : Building sustainable solutions for organizations’.
