Journalists urged to be agents of hope

The Association of Catholic Journalists has urged journalists to aspire to be agents of hope in the communities they serve as they journey through the 2025 Jubilee Year.

Chairperson of the ACJ Central Region Chapter, Andrew Viano, made the remarks on Sunday after the association donated assorted items to  Missionaries of Charity at Utatu Woyera Kawale Parish.

Viano said  that the association decided to make the donation as a way of inspiring hope among those in need.

The donation included cooking oil, soap, and food items, which were presented to the home that cares for malnourished children and the elderly.

Parish Priest for Utatu Woyera Kawale Parish, Father Deodatus Kanyambo, commended the journalists for their gesture, emphasising that they should take the lead in spreading hope to others.

The Jubilee of the World of Communications is being observed from Friday, 24 January, to Sunday, 26 January, celebrating the role of communicators in fostering hope.
