Minister of Information and Digitalization Moses Kunkuyu has called on public relations practitioners in Malawi to join hands in combating fake news and disinformation as the country is heading towards 2025 General Elections.
Kunkuyu made the remarks in Mangochi where he opened Public Relations Society of Malawi (PRSM)’s Annual Lakeshore Conference.
The minister said such collaborative effort would greatly empower citizens with reliable information, enabling them to make informed decisions.
PRSM president Benson Linje has welcomed the minister’s call, saying PRSM is working towards creating a robust profession that is key to advancing the development of the country.
The three day conference is being held under the theme: “Managing Narratives For Enhanced Democracy and Development.
