Karonga UTM Youth Achievers on Saturday night organized a candlelight memorial at Karonga Community Ground for the late Dr Saulos Chilima and eight others who died in a plane crash at Chikangawa in Mzimba.
Speaking during the ceremony, Member of Parliament for Karonga North West Felix Kayira urged the youth to follow the vision of Dr Chilima for the betterment of Malawi.
District Governess for UTM in the district Patricia Msiska said the party will continue to promote peace in the country.
Activities included a solidarity walk and participants sang songs to honour the departed souls.
