Witness in Allan Witika murder to testify in camera

Allan Wittika, who was an employee of Coca-Cola Beverages, was found dead with head wounds in his car at Area 15 in Lilongwe last September.

The High Court in Lilongwe has allowed Olive Nkhono, one of the witnesses in Allan Witika murder case, to testify in-camera.

State lawyers made an application to allow her testify in closed door court session, considering that she had a special relationship with both the deceased and the accused, which could cause emotional and psychological trauma to her.

The defence argued that the move will not do the accused any justice and asked the court to dismiss the application.

But Justice Mzondi Mvula ruled in favour of the State, stating that Nkhono should be treated differently from the other witnesses and granted her wish to testify in camera, as long it will help the court to deliver justice without impeding any party.

Meanwhile, the first witness who is Allan’s uncle, is testifying.

The state is expected to parade four witnesses.
