Puma Energy Malawi has launched the Puma PRIS application, which aims at rewarding customer loyalty by turning purchases into points that can be redeemed to make more purchases.
The application is designed to allow customers to accumulate points after fuel or lubricant purchases, which, once they reach 500 or above, can be redeemed and used to purchase fuel, lubricants or other products sold at Puma Express Shops.
Speaking during the launch in Blantyre over the weekend, Puma Energy Malawi Managing Director Steveria Kadangwe said the development is not a promotion but a loyalty program for anyone who can shop at their sites.
She added that Malawi is the second African country to have the application, but they have it all over Latin America.
“It is a loyalty program to reward our customers, and the more the customer buys, the more they get points and the bigger the rewards,” Kadangwe said.
Once the customer has downloaded the application, they have to refuel or shop at any Puma Service Station and scan to get the instant points for redeeming later on.
Puma Energy Malawi is one of the subsidiaries of Press Corporation (PCL) Plc, whose Chief Executive Officer, Ronald Mangani, was the guest of honour at the event.
Mangani commended the company for the innovation, adding that it means the company has something on the market that expresses gratitude to customers.
“As a group, we discuss these things, and we encourage management of our companies to be as innovative as Puma has shown, and we are hoping that such developments will be emulated by some of our subsidiaries as well,” Mangani said.
Puma is one of the leading retailers of fuel and lubricants, among others, in the country.
