Malawi and Mozambique are expected to sign a bilateral air services agreement aimed at improving air connectivity between the two countries.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Nancy Tembo said this during the closing ceremony of the 14th session of the Malawi-Mozambique Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation.
The two governments are also expected to sign agreements which will promote trade and tourism, and the exchange of prisoners, among others.
Secretary for Foreign Affairs Mwayiwawo Polepole said this is critical as the agreements will enhance collaboration and development between the two countries. He has since stressed the need for implementation and operationalisation of the agreements for the benefit of the two countries.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Mozambique, Maria Lucas, commended the flourishing relations between Malawi and Mozambique, citing President Daniel Chapo’s visit to Malawi as a symbol of the Mozambican government’s commitment to strengthening the relationship, which spans close to 50 years.
The two-day 14th Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation brought together ministers of transport, trade and tourism from the two countries, among key government officials.
