FCB Nyasa Big Bullets will start their 2026 Football Season without two of their most-relied-upon attackers, Babatunde Adepoju and Chikumbutso Salima, who have left the club within a month.
The two are joint top goal scorers of the 2025 Super League, Babatunde Adepoju and Chikumbutso Salima, having netted 15 times each. Both have contributed 18 assists in the campaign.
The club credited the duo as its central attacking dominance force.
“Together, Babatunde and Salima, were directly involved in 48 of Bullets’ 60 goals this season,” reads a statement from the club.
Babatunde left for a South African team, Venda Academy, where he had been on loan for the past two years, while Salima has just joined Al-Merrikh, a Sudanese club.
Sports analyst Dan Chemis has since implored Bullets’ management to recruit suitable replacements for their top attackers.
“It is good for the players, but bad for the team. It is now a challenge for the team because they have to beef up their squad, considering that they also paid a fine to FIFA over breached contractual agreements with a player. I do not know if they can recruit locally or internationally,” Chemis said.
Bullets confirmed Salima’s departure on Monday (19 January 2026) and Babatunde’s departure was announced on 28 December 2026.
In a statement, Bullets thanked Salima’s contributions to the team, having made 69 appearances, scoring 29 goals and providing 31 assists.
Babatunde, last season alone, scored 19 goals across all tournaments.
With the absence of the two, Bullets can now rely on other strikers like Maxwell Gastin Phodo and Hassan Kajoke, if they cannot recruit new faces.
