JENDA POLICE APPREHEND 5 NOTORIOUS THIEVES

Police at Jenda Township in Mzimba are urging community members to visit their station to identify recovered items linked to five notorious thieves.

MacFarlane Mseteka, Public Relations Officer for Jenda Police, disclosed that the suspected criminals are behind various crimes in the district and the neighbouring area of Lundazi in Zambia.

Mseteka said the suspects were apprehended during intelligence-driven operations conducted between 9 and 10 February 2024.

Among them are Patrick Kampira Lungu and Aubrey Shonga, who were involved in stealing electronics.

Additionally, Alibi Yusuf and Lonely Hudson Kaunda face charges of obstructing police officers and intending to cause grievous harm.

The fifth suspect, Henry Nhlani, was caught in possession of 40 grammes of marijuana without a permit.

Once the paperwork is completed, all suspects will be brought before court.
