President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has assured people that his administration will continue to secure investments in the water sector to improve and increase the provision of potable water in the country.
Dr Chakwera was speaking in Mangochi when he officially inaugurated the extension of Mangochi Potable Water Supply at Nkhudzi- Bay Water Supply Scheme.
The Malawi leader said the commissioned scheme which has been jointly funded by Kuwait Fund for Economic Development and Malawi Government, is a huge milestone towards his government’s resolve to ease water challenges.
He said: “Access to clean water has far-reaching effects on the economic life of any community. My administration has been very aggressive in courting and securing investments in the water sector of our country.”
The Malawi leader then urged Southern Region Water Board to maintain the momentum.
