PUPILS TO BENEFIT FROM TABLET-BASED LEARNING

JBJ Foundation says it intends to scale up education and computer learning through tablet technology initiatives to over 500 schools across  Malawi.

Under the initiative,  learners at the primary school level will be given tablet computers to work independently as part of learning.

Chairman of JBJ Foundation, David Ertel, made the remarks after meeting President Dr Lazarus Chakwera in New York on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly.

In her remarks, Minister of Education, Madalitso Kambauwa Wilima,  said the foundation complements the government’s effort to ensure children are technologically sound while at the primary school level.

The organisation has partnered with the Malawi Government through the Ministry of Education to roll out tablet-based learning, whose national scale-up programme will be launched next month.
