Flames squad assembled ahead of AFCON qualifier games

All players named by Malawi National Football Team coach, Patrick Mabedi have joined the Flames camp in Lilongwe ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations Qualifiers against Burundi and Burkina Faso.

The Football Association of Malawi confirmed the arrival of Zambia-based trio Chifundo Mphasi, Chawanangwa Kaonga, and Robert Saizi, along with TP Mazembe’s Lanjesi Nkhoma and Patrick Mwaungulu, who joined the camp this afternoon.

Team Captain John Banda arrived earlier on Monday morning while midfielder Yamikani Chester joined the squad yesterday.

Defender Denis Chembezi, who plays his club football in Iraq, joined camp on Friday.

The Flames will host Burundi at Bingu National Stadium on Thursday before traveling to Mali to face Burkina Faso five days later.
