Minister of Homeland Security Ken Zikhale Ngoma says Russia is interested to support Malawi in establishing its nuclear power plant as a starting point to turn around the economy
Upon arrival from Russia where he attended, an international security conference, Zikhale Ng’oma said Russian authorities felt Malawi can attract more investors once it can have nuclear energy.

The minister said he discussed with Russian authorities how nuclear energy can help boost manufacturing while also selling power to other countries.
On Agriculture, Zikhale Ng’oma said Malawi has learnt not to sell all its raw materials rather it should intensify value addition.
He further said the Malawi delegation learnt that most African countries are burdened by debt because they borrow in foreign currencies and struggle to pay in the foreign currencies and added that increased production is the only solution out.
