Mzimba Hora MP supports PSLCE candidates

Member of Parliament for Mzimba Hora who is also Deputy Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, Martha Mzomera Ngwira, has pledged continued support to Primary School Leaving Certificate of Education (PSLCE) candidates who are set to proceed to national secondary schools.

Ngwira made the remarks  when she donated assorted food items, including beans, eggs, cooking oil, and maize, to various PSLCE candidate camps in her constituency as part of  support towards examination preparation.

She encouraged the candidates to work hard during the remaining days before their examinations, stressing the importance of discipline, sacrifice, and commitment in order to achieve good results and secure places in secondary school.

“Nothing is easy. You need to sacrifice yourself by studying hard and listening to your teachers,” she said, adding that education remains key to national development and that Malawi depends on educated citizens to drive progress.
She further urged the candidates to remain confident and avoid negative self-perceptions, particularly the belief that coming from rural areas limits their potential. She emphasised that their goals are achievable with focus, determination, and hard work.

The Parliamentarian also expressed appreciation to teachers for their dedication in mentoring the candidates, describing their efforts as vital and worthy of recognition.

“As a Member of Parliament for Mzimba Hora and Deputy Minister of Gender, Children, Disability and Social Welfare, I truly appreciate your effort in shaping these learners. May God bless you,” she said.

She added that while the donated items may not be sufficient, they are intended to make a meaningful contribution to the learners’ welfare during their preparation period.

Some of the beneficiary camps include Bulala, Mzalangwe, Malangazi, Chiseng’ezi, Malinyete, Chanyama, Endindeni, Visenthe, and Lukwelukwe.

The candidates have since been urged to remain focused and to put God first as they prepare for their forthcoming examinations.
