Minister of Health, Khumbize Kandondo Chiponda, has officially launched the construction of Chinsapo Clinic extension, a K760 million project funded by the Aids Healthcare Foundation (AHF).
The construction of the two-story building, which will house several reproductive health departments, aims at enhancing the delivery of quality HIV care services.
Speaking at the groundbreaking event in Lilongwe, Chiponda said the construction of new facilities at the clinic will help improve the capacity of the health centre to provide reproductive health services including HIV and AIDS care, which she believes will help in combating new infections and providing treatment to diagnosed patients.
AHF Country Programme Manager, Triza Hara, emphasised her organisation’s commitment to helping the government of Malawi succeed in the fight against HIV and AIDS and other infections.
AHF also handed over essential medical equipment and supplies worth K51 million to the Ministry of Health.
These resources are designed to support healthcare delivery across AHF-supported facilities across the country.
