Government opens 13 CBCCs in Chikwawa

The Government of Malawi with support from the World Bank through the Investing in Early Years Project, has opened 13 Community-Based Child Care Centres (CBCCs) in Chikwawa.

Principal Secretary for the Ministry of Gender, Community Development and Social Welfare, Nertha Semphere Mgala, said that the initiative aims to provide children with a solid educational foundation, recognising its importance for their entire academic journey.

Chairperson for Chikwawa District Council, Martin Goche, expressed optimism that the new facilities will offer a conducive learning environment for the children.
