Road Safety Alert Foundation (ROSAF) has launched a proactive initiative to reduce road accidents in Malawi.
ROSAF Supervisor, Thokozani Chenjezi, said the initiative targets vulnerable road users like pedestrians and school children.
“Failure to observe road safety measures are common causes of accidents, to combat this, ROSAF conducts sensitization campaigns in primary schools, teaching children and parents essential road safety skills,” said Chenjezi.
The organisation targets to reduce road accidents in Malawi by 50% by 2030 and make Malawi’s roads safer for everyone, aligning with the global Decade of Action on Road Safety.
