Minister of Defence, Harry Mkandawire, has hailed Malawi Defence Force (MDF) Command and Staff College for promoting academic and military studies since they can improve soldiers’ standards and upgrade national security.
Mkandawire made the remarks during third cohort graduation ceremony for Senior Command and Staff Course at MDF Command and Staff College in Salima District.
He urged the graduates to put to full use the leadership skills and strategical knowledge they have acquired.
Malawi Defence Force Commander, Paul Velentino Phiri, emphasised that incorporating allied countries into the education system is crucial for strengthening relations among African nations.
Phiri said all preparations are in place for the expansion of educational programmes at the institution.
32 senior officers have graduated with advanced diploma in Military studies, and 17 Senior officers are from MDF and 15 are from allied countries in Africa.
