1.4% Malawians possess digital expertise — NSO, MACRA

Only 1.4% Malawians possess digital skills, according to a study conducted by the National Statistical Office (NSO) in collaboration with Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA).

During the groundbreaking ceremony at Mlodza Community Day Secondary School, MACRA highlighted a significant digital divide between urban and rural students.

To address this issue, MACRA is constructing an ICT laboratory at the school.

According to Linda Kambale, MACRA’s Economic Regulation Manager, the provision of ICT laboratories will bridge the digital gap between rural and urban students.

Kambale highlighted the initiative will benefit both students and teachers by providing access to educational tools.
