President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has appointed Jacob Mazalale as Principal Secretary in the Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs.
Mazalale, an Economics lecturer at University of Malawi (Unima), will be responsible for economic affairs.
Spokesperson at the Office of President and Cabinet, Robert Kalindiza, has confirmed that Mazalale joins the Finance Ministry on secondment from the university.
Kalindiza added that Mazalale’s appointment comes as the President is trying to ensure that the economy continues on a positive trajectory.
