Police officers have been urged to foster cordial relationships with their communities to enhance their effectiveness.
Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Eastern Region Gladson Chipumphula made the remarks after receiving vehicle tyres worth over K2 million from Adams Rental Car and Midima Holdings.
“When I was Officer-in-Charge for Limbe Police Station, I established a good relationship with the business community and that relationship is now bearing fruit,” said Chipumphula.
General Manager for the companies, Ibrahim Mataya, said Police play a crucial role in ensuring law and order in communities hence the donation.
“Where there is law and order, businesses thrive and we are grateful for the partnership we have with the police,” said Mataya.
Mataya encouraged other businesses to follow suit, recognizing the benefits derived from a harmonious relationship between the police service and the business community.
