Silver Strikers ladies have finished third in the Goshen FAM National Women’s Championship after they defeated Civil Service Women 4-1.
Civil’s Atupele Mpoma scored an own goal in the 2nd minute, and Silver’s Chikondi Dube doubled the lead on the 9th minute. Chisomo Banda tripled the lead on the 39th minute.
Just after half-time, Civil had their sole goal on the 48th minute after Jean Fyson scored, but Silver remained strong as Madyina Nguluwe hammered the last nail on the coffin on the 73rd minute.
Silver’s hopes to clinch the title were cut short after they lost 2-0 to Ascent Academy who are in the final and will face MDF Lionesses at the Bingu National Stadium in Lilongwe on Sunday.
Civil’s dreams were shattered following a 3-nil demolition loss to the MDF Lionesses.
