Sports analyst Dan Chemis has urged the Malawi Beach Soccer national team to utilise their home ground advantage in their second-leg match against Burundi after their first fixture ended 7-6 in favor of Malawi.
The second leg will be played on Saturday, 27 July 2024, at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima.
However, Chemis predicted that the match will be a challenge for both teams because the winner of this fixture will qualify for the 2024 Beach Soccer Afcon, which will be hosted by Egypt later this year.
In yesterday’s game, Burundi scored first, but Malawi managed to pull an upset with a 6-7 scoreline scored by Isaac Kajam (quadruple), Dala Simba, Aubrain Nkhumbula, & an Own Goal.
Chemis also advised the team’s coach, Willy Kumilambe, to rectify the errors that led to conceding so many goals.
Kumilambe acknowledged that their opponents had studied them from the Cosafa Beach Soccer Championship, hence the hard-fought win.
He also highlighted that the tie is not over and they need to work hard ahead of the return match.
