Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has announced that this year’s national knock-out tournament, Airtel Top 8, will begin on 13 June.
Blue Eagles and Civil Service United will be the curtain raisers at the Bingu National Stadium, before defending champions, FCB Nyasa Big Bullets play against Ekhaya FC in the evening.
According to FAM, this year’s winners will get K40 million, 5 million more than last year, the runner-up will pocket K14 million and all participating teams will each receive K4 million.
The player of the tournament shall receive K2 million, the top goal scorer shall receive K1.35 million, and each man of the match player shall receive K140,000.
On 14 June, Mighty Wanderers shall open their campaign against Creck Sporting at Zomba Stadium, while Silver Strikers shall be at home to welcome Karonga United.
The second leg shall be held on 11 and 12 July. T
The semifinals, which will be held on 1 and 2 August, and the final, which will be played on 29 August, shall be played on a knockout basis in single fixtures.
FCB Nyasa Big Bullets won the 2025 Airtel Top 8 Cup 4-3 on post-match penalties against Silver Strikers, after the game had ended 1-1 in regulation time.
The Airtel Top 8 is participated by eight teams that finished in the top 8 of the 2025/2026 Super League.
