MCP impressed with conduct of prospective contestants

Chairperson for the Malawi Congress Party (MCP) Convention, Kezzie Msukwa, says he is encouraged by the conduct of prospective candidates in regards to compliance with the rules and regulations for the forthcoming office bearers’ election, set for August 2024.

He said President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has portrayed humility by going through all the requirements in collecting nomination papers and getting them signed by necessary party structure leaders, as a contestant for the party presidency.

“We have extended the period of collecting nomination papers to Wednesday 24th July. Preparations are on course,” said Msukwa.

Msukwa said it is pleasing to note that young people and women have collected the nomination papers in large numbers.

MCP General Convention will take place from 8 to 10 August 2024 at the Bingu International Convention Centre (BICC) in Lilongwe.
