Three people have died in a road accident at Lizulu Trading Centre in Ntcheu District, which has left 14 others with varying degrees of injuries.
Ntcheu Police Station spokesperson, Jacob Khembo, states that the accident involved a MA tours bus, driven by Charles Mataka, 42.
The bus, travelling from Ntcheu Boma to Dedza, rammed into a Toyota which was trying to swerve to avoid hitting a herd of cattle crossing the road.
Khembo says the Toyota was travelling in the same direction as the bus. After the collision, the Toyota veered to the left side of the road where there were traders, hitting 17 of them.
Two people were killed on the spot, four were rushed to Lizulu Health Centre while 11 were taken to Dedza District Hospital where one was pronounced dead upon arrival.
