Prophet Shepherd Bushiri has donated K30 million towards the construction of a police unit in Lilongwe’s Area 43, with residents pledging to purchase a brand-new vehicle for the unit.
Speaking at the groundbreaking ceremony, Bushiri urged the community to take ownership of the project.
Deputy Inspector General of Police Happy Mkandawire stressed the unit’s importance in addressing crime in the area.
The formation, to be completed by May 2025, will comprise an office building and four staff houses.
