Journalists have been urged by the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA) to report accurately on the operations of the authority, specifically on the Mwanza border post.
The border post serves as a crucial connection point between Malawi and neighbouring countries such as Mozambique, Zimbabwe, and South Africa, handling significant volumes of cargo and trade.
During a media familiarization tour in Mwanza, Wilma Chalulu, MRA’s Marketing and Communications Manager, emphasized that journalists must understand and accurately convey the various processes that take place at the facility.
Mwanza border post consistently ranks as one of MRA’s top revenue-generating establishments, with an average monthly collection of about K18 billion.
