FAM orders Promise Kamwendo to return home

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) has ordered Promise Kamwendo to return to Dedza Dynamos after he improperly signed a contract with Mighty Mukuru Wanderers.

Kamwendo had initially agreed to join FCB Nyasa Big Bullets before signing with Wanderers, leading to a transfer dispute.

He has been ordered to repay the K6 million he received as a signing fee from Wanderers.

Additionally, Dedza Dynamos will refund a total of K7 million to both Bullets and Wanderers—K3 million to Bullets and K4 million to Wanderers. For their role in the transfer controversy, Dynamos has been fined K3 million.

FAM’s Disciplinary Committee has since said that all financial penalties must be settled within 14 days.

Kamwendo’s contract with Dynamos is to expire at the end of the current season.
