Tributes continue to pour in for the late Deputy Minister of Local Government Joyce Chitsulo, 47, who died on Friday afternoon.
Minister of Higher Education, Jessie Kabwira, said the late Chitsulo was dedicated to her work in various aspects.
Political analysts have described her as an icon who led the development of Mwanza-West, where she served as a Member of Parliament, Mwanza District and the country at large.
Analyst Wonderful Mkutche said: “At a time we needed more of her, she has left a huge gap in Parliament and also her constituency”.
Nandin Patel, another analyst, described the death as a loss to the nation.
“Very sad news indeed! She was a very active minister, always supporting development initiatives. She had a lot to offer to the nation,” Patel said.
Mponela Ward Councillor, Mayamiko Kambewa, wrote on his Facebook page that Chitsulo is partly responsible for the improved welfare of ward councillors.
President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and the First Lady have also expressed their sadness over her death.
