Vice President Dr Michael Usi has left the country for the inauguration of Rwandan President-elect, Paul Kagame, which will be held on Sunday.
President Kagame who has been in office since the year 2000, was re-elected in July this year for a fourth term with 99 percent of the vote.
Usi, who left the Kamuzu International Airport at 8:10 am is hopeful that his presence in Rwanda will strengthen bilateral ties between the two nations.
The two nations signed a Joint Permanent Commission of Cooperation in 2016 to work together in areas of trade, defence, among others.
