Mukuru promotion drives formal forex inflows  into Malawi

Mukuru says  Kuiphula ndi Mukuru Promotion is encouraging the use of formal  channels for forex transactions in Malawi.

Speaking during the second-round draw of the promotion in Lilongwe, Mukuru Country Manager, Pride Chiwaya, said the initiative has played a significant role in boosting forex inflows into the country.

“This initiative has added value by encouraging customers to prioritise the Mukuru wallet, a formal and fee-free channel for forex transactions,” said Chiwaya. He also pointed out that the promotion supports government efforts to strengthen forex inflows through legitimate means.

Without being specific Chiwaya disclosed that through Mukuru the country has received forex inflows translating into billions of Kwachas.

The campaign, celebrating Mukuru’s 20 years of service, has already rewarded 38 customers with prizes. The latest draw saw 18 winners walk away with prizes such as smart televisions, smartphones, bluetooth speakers, and Mukuru-branded merchandise.

“Our services are highly competitive and affordable, and this is our way of thanking our customers for their loyalty over the past two decades,” Chiwaya added.

The December draw concluded the regular prize phase, with the grand finale scheduled for January 2025. One lucky winner will drive home a brand-new Mitsubishi Xpander, the ultimate prize of the promotion.
