Multitudes have gathered at the home of former civil servant Grant Sadyalunda to pay their last respects.
Minister of Gender, Jean Sendeza, representing President Dr Lazarus Chakwera at the funeral, says the President is saddened over the passing of the Late Sadyalunda, who has been a loyal member and pillar of strength for the Malawi Congress Party.
Sendeza said Sadyalunda’s wife served as Member of Parliament before being appointed a cabinet Minister in various portifolios under MCP rule in the 1970s.
Late Sadyalunda died on 27 April,2024 at ABC Clinic in Lilongwe after a long illness and has left a wife, three children and 11 grandchildren.
He will be laid to rest at St Peter’s Cemetery in Area 3 in Lilongwe later today.
