Minister of Foreign Affairs George Chaponda has hailed the United Kingdom (UK) for an enduring partnership with Malawi, a partnership which has helped Malawi in socio economic development.
Chaponda said this in Lilongwe during a reception to celebrate the birthday of King Charles the Third of the UK.
The minister observed that King Charles reign continues to be defined by an unwavering commitment to public service, environmental stewardship, sustainable development, and the empowerment of future generations.
Chaponda said in Malawi, the Monarch is involved in various projects under the Sustainable Market Initiative.

Under the initiative, Malawi has aquaculture, fertilizer and hydropower plant on Bua river.
This, he said, is evidence of His Majesty the King’s commitment to empower the lives of the local communities in the country and Commonwealth at large.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs further commended King Charles for longstanding advocacy for climate action, conservation, interfaith dialogue, and youth engagement.
He said this has inspired millions around the world because it shows monarchy’s resolve to addressing contemporary global challenges.
British High Commissioner to Malawi, Leigh Stubblefield, said the UK remains committed to help Malawi in various economic development initiatives.

These include protection of peoples health, ensuring people have access to clean energy and creating an economy and politics that allow private sector to create jobs raise incomes and reduce poverty.
King Charles the 3rd of UK was born on November 14 in 1948 and his birthday celebration is a regular diplomatic event which brings together govt officials, diplomats, business leaders and cultural groups.
