The Malawi Under-19 Women’s Cricket National Team has returned home after a remarkable performance in Rwanda, where they won six consecutive matches to secure the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Sub-Regional Qualifiers Cup.
The team was warmly welcomed back by various dignitaries, including the Malawi National Council of Sports and Cricket Association of Malawi officials.
Their victory has garnered widespread praise from across the nation, including commendations from President Dr Lazarus Chakwera and First Lady Monica Chakwera.
The team’s championship run was capped by a thrilling 2-wicket win over Kenya at the Gahanga Oval Stadium in Kigali, Rwanda.
