Kamuzu University of Health Sciences (KUHes) is optimistic that the induction and planning workshop organized in partnership with the Consortium for Advanced Research Training in Africa (CARTA), will help address challenges faced by postgraduate students, such as lengthy study durations.
Adamson Muula, a lecturer at KUHes made the remarks in Lilongwe during the workshop where he stressed the need of Networking with other universities in advancing students supervision in postgraduate studies in the country and beyond to enhance effective supervision.
One of the participants of the workshop from Obafeni Awolowo University in Nigeria, Boladale Mapayi, said only well-trained supervisors are able to transfer high quality knowledge to students that can also help to advance research outcomes.
The workshop has brought together stakeholders from various universities in Africa to share best practices for effective supervision of postgraduate studies in the country and Africa in general.
