Kaombe Bridge in Nkhotakota could be temporarily repaired soon as a contractor has been spotted on the site.
The bridge was washed away by the recent floods, rendering the M5 road going to Dwangwa impassable.
At the moment, transporters are on both ends where people are dropping off, crossing the river on foot to board again on the other side.
Meanwhile, some people within the area have seen potential in making a little something out of the situation, as they are doing piece works,with some women and girls plying different small scale businesses.
